from what I understand. A.D.R.V. is the internal organisation, and crash worship is the stage name and the name they used on the albums.

Re: a.d.r.v./crash worship: difference?
Fri, December 10, 2004 - 10:34 AMCan anyone give an update as to what happened to the rest of Crash Worship that didn't join Flam-Chen?
I was told that the female drummer from Flam Chen joined Flam Chen, but I have not heard a word about any other incarnations of Crash Worship since they broke up. Anyone know?? Are they completly defunct? I think last time I saw them was at the Icehouse in like '98 or '99 -- anyone else?? I think first time was in the mid 80's at the Crobar in S.F. -- I forget the name of the Sunday night party that was happening there at that time. Just that I was blown away and the only band I've seen come close to their intensity is maybe Sleepytime Gorilla Museum.
If anyone on the list has not witnessed Flam Chen! PLEASE check them out -- they're amazing. www.flam-chen.com

Re: a.d.r.v./crash worship: difference?
Thu, April 14, 2005 - 8:37 PMSome of the Crash Worship people went on to form Extra Action, if I'm not mistaken.
ADRV = Adoración de la Rotura Violenta, or Crash Worship in Spanish. I'm not sure when one was used vs. the other.
Someone please correct any of this info if it's not accurate. -

Re: a.d.r.v./crash worship: difference?
Fri, May 6, 2005 - 12:50 PMits true...
it is just a way of saying it in spanish...
i remember they re-released a particular album... and i didn't like it cuz the song pillar of fire was just about cut in half =[ .. on the re-release, they did not use ADRV ........
i think it was just a subculture 'thing'...
nothing too esoteric..
i could be wrong..
but what's the difference. its fucking CRASH WORSHIP.
great marketing if you ask me!
last time i saw them was @ the old l.a. jail.. .. .. .. . . . .. simon beat me w/ a stick.
my friend got a rash from the wine/fruit orgy after they migrated to the stage.
it was muy caliente.
great party.

Re: a.d.r.v./crash worship: difference?
Sat, April 15, 2006 - 9:31 PMJay Posie who played trombone with them for a bit is in New Orleans and beyond performing as MC Tracheotomy and in several other projects including performance with Quintron and the 9th Ward Marching Band.
Jeff Matteson is also in New Orleans or at least as of last summer running the Strangebone E-Z Organ the last I heard.
Rumors and possible sightings of Marcus Wolfe in Portland, OR around the turn of the century.
As for the rest go to www.crashworship.net and check out the links to see some current and not so current projects members may be involved in. -

Re: a.d.r.v./crash worship: difference?
Sun, April 16, 2006 - 11:18 PMDreiky (female) went on to Morricone Youth, based on the East Coast, NYC I think... sounds nothing like CW.
Ryan went on to form Sixes, based in Oakland, more similar sounding to the original sound of CW, before they went all marching band...
Speaking of, some people (I forget who) went on to form EAMB in the Bay Area. Some kind of schism between EAMB & Sixes...
Jeff & Markus, hidden underground, Yes, Markus has been in Portland, late summer 2005 in guise of waldteufel..... also doing artisitics stuffs... www.spiritone.com/~dagaz/ -

Re: a.d.r.v./crash worship: difference?
Sun, April 16, 2006 - 11:54 PMeamb was founded by simon & a few of it's members have had a cursory involvement with crash worship, but other than a similar approach in percussion, it is a completely different animal. people will always compare the two, as well as any project founded by a post CW personality, it had to go somewhere. yet such thinking is a form of stagnation, if you let me tell it. all these groups are their own thing, they should be allowed to be such. as far as the rift is concerned, RJ has his reasons, which are understandable yet one sided.
